Maggie is a Mangala woman who grew up at Myroodah in the Kimberley, and is now based in South Hedland where she lives with her family. Maggie paints about her childhood, the station where she grew up, went to school and worked, the dam she visited for fishing and swimming, and the bushtucker she collected. Her mother is frequently referred to in the stories associated with her artwork, as are the manager and teacher of Myroodah Station, Mick and Mary Lanigan. Maggie also fondly remembers the friends she grew up with on the station, with whom she would ‘run amok’.
