Alice Guiness is a Yindjibarndi woman who was born at Goodabinyia. Alice has been painting for many years at art centres across Roebourne, and joined Juluwarlu in 2017. Her work features the plants of the Yindjibarndi tablelands, and also focuses on the Burndud/ Bundut circle, the sacred Marrga Creation Spirit dance ground at Birlinbirlin on the Fortescue River, an important story in Yindjibarndi culture which relates to Birdarra Law. Alice paints the Burndud in different styles and recently has been experimenting with painting the Burndud on paper.
